A tree, a cloud in the sky, a flower, a boulder, a weathered piece of wood – all these things are beautiful. But the magnificence of nature cannot be captured by the eye of the camera alone. It takes an artist’s eye to bring out an object’s full range of energy and emotion — to make it a PhotoScape.

Brooklyn native Muriel Levison Goodwin has been immersed in art her whole life. Whether as graphic designer, painter, or curator – and more recently photographer – creating and showcasing art has never been far from her heart.

Muriel’s travels took her to São Paulo, Brazil, where she lived for 17 years before returning to New York. In São Paulo she studied Fine Art at FAAP under Nelson Nóbrega. She showed her work annually at the Chapel Art Show (where she also curated the sculpture exhibit) and had individual showings at Alliance Française and the American Consulate, among others.

Upon returning to New York Muriel worked as an Art Director for an advertising agency where she honed her digital art and photography skills. As a painter Muriel specialized in impressionistic landscapes, but her current passion is photography. Today, instead of creating nature on canvas, she prefers to artistically bring to life what is captured by the camera... beauty both natural and man-made.
